Being a Chief People Officer is one of the hardest jobs in a modern company. You're expected to protect the culture, grow the team, shape strategy, and steady the leadership....all while the ground keeps shifting beneath you. It’s high-pressure, often isolating, and rarely understood by those outside the role.

After 20 years partnering with Chief People Officer's representing VC and PE-backed businesses, I saw the pattern again and again. From the outside they looked confident, were incredibly articulate and always seemed totally in control. But in quieter moments, they'd speak honestly about the weight they were carrying; the tough calls, the constant trade-offs, the uncertainty etc.

Over time, I started connecting them with each other. Not to fix things, but to share perspective, experience and support. Unbeknowing at the time, these conversations made all the difference - not just practically, but personally.

And it was from these connections that Futurist was born.

A space for experienced people leaders to connect with others who truly understand the job, and to face the realities of leading through constant change, together.

The future is exciting. The role of HR has morphed massively over the past decade. What was once seen as a support function is now central to how companies survive, adapt, and grow - through market shifts, restructures, investment cycles, and everything in between. And it’s still evolving. At Futurist, we want to stay ahead of that curve - helping shape what comes next, and not just responding to it.
